learning hip keys on the tissu!
i would like to boast that i have a SOLID hip key on the hammock. i can do a little scissor roll or a back bend or drop from it
|back bend with a toe touch, in 2014 (when i used to know how to do things). more here: http://liquoriceblack.blogspot.com/2014/09/ne-on.html|
but on the tissu it's a whole new ball game!
my left and right leg are super not coordinating with each other, and i'm getting caught up in the slack silk. @___@
but i must admit... i love the challenge! so far, everything else we have done on tissu has been technically easy (because i have a hammock background) but physically difficult (holy crap, didn't realize how weak my arms got over the last year). but now that i have a solid month of climbing and straddles, time to learn the fun and complicated stuff! :D
here's a clean version of the skill
i love how she has a huge straddle (split) before rolling over. at full speed, it would look super flourishy!
the problem with weird hobbies is this is not really something you can practice at home. i guess i'll have to wait until next weekend to try again. I WILL LEARN YOU, HIP KEY!
after aerial, i wandered kakaako a bit. all the walls got refreshed at POW WOW!
this is what it looks like out side of boca/samadhi
it's like an homage to princess mononoke- there are tree spirits in her crown and the pua'a breathing out a sugar skull. the colors are so sweet, makes me feel like some CANDY HEARTS
